SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Rescuers pulled a 20-year-old woman from the wreckage of her vehicle after she slammed into a semi-truck overnight in Mira Mesa.

The driver, who was alone in the car, was traveling in the 9200 block of Activity Road near Black Mountain around 1:00 a.m. when she crashed into the parked big rig.

"She was injured. It does appear alcohol was a factor. They're working on estimating speed to see if that was a factor or not I don't know that and any rate she was transported to Scripps La Jolla and they're treating her there," said Lt. Paul Phillips with the San Diego Police Department.

The truck driver was asleep in the cab, but was awakened and called paramedics to the scene. He was not injured.

As of this report, there is no word on the woman's condition, but she is being investigated for a possible DUI.
