SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An argument between roommates turned violent in the East Village early Friday when one of the men took out a box cutter and slashed the other in his neck and upper arm area, police said.
The men, both in their 40s, fought in the 900 block of F Street around 12:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.
Paramedics took the injured roommate to a local trauma center so he could be treated for non-life threatening cuts, Stafford said in a statement.
His roommate was taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, he said.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday for a former San Diego police officer accused of groping four women during pat-down searches last year.
Chula Vista police will be looking for drivers talking or texting on cell phones Tuesday and through the end of the month as part of "Distracting Driving Awareness Month."
Police were on the lookout Tuesday for the man who fired a shot while robbing a Rolando-area smoke shop and his accomplice who emptied its cash register.
