SAN DIEGO (CNS/CBS 8) - The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office Sunday publicly named the 80-year-old man killed in a single vehicle car crash on Saturday afternoon in the Grantville neighborhood.

Albert Najera of San Diego was driving his Toyota pickup truck east on 4300 Twain Ave. near Mission Gorge Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit several parked cars and a power pole on the east side of the road, San Diego police Sgt. Ron Glass said.

"The driver did collide with several parked cars. Two in the parking lot of the Stadium Club and at least one other vehicle parked on the north side of Twain Avenue before hitting the pole," he said.

It was not disclosed if it was known why Najera lost control of the vehicle, but he was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

Police say Najera may have had a medical issue that caused the crash, which killed him and caused serious damage to his car and the pole. They do not suspect alcohol was a factor.

Firefighters attempted to revive Najera when they arrived on scene, but he did not respond and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Medical Examiner's Office said.

"First unit responded within two minutes...found the male driver unconscious, not breathing and no pulse inside the vehicle," Sgt. Glass said.

No other injuries were reported.
