SAN DIEGO (AP) — Authorities say a light rail train carrying 37 passengers struck an empty truck in northern San Diego County, but no one was hurt.
Sheriff's Department spokesman Deputy Ed Macken says the crash occurred Thursday night near Vista.
He says a truck stalled on the tracks and the driver apparently tried to warn the oncoming Sprinter train by waving ity down.
However, Macken says the train struck and heavily damaged the truck.
None of the people on the train or the vehicle driver were hurt.
Macken didn't say in the news release if the train sustained any damage, and he didn't immediately return a call seeking information.
He says that the driver was arrested for driving a vehicle on the rail road tracks and other charges.
