CBS News 8 receives Golden Bell Awards

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Salvation Army called members of the media on the carpet Friday -- that would be the red carpet.

CBS News 8 won several annual Golden Bell Awards, a sort of modest and light-hearted ceremony based on the Oscars.

The event is put on by the Salvation Army for members of the media who help the organization get the word out about its mission.

Anchor Carlo Cecchetto was honored to receive an award for the Sound of Hope Red Kettle Campaign, and our own Phil Blauer and photojournalist Mike Edison were honored for their coverage of the Thanksgiving dinner at Golden Hall.
