Father ID's woman whose body was found burning

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A woman whose body was found smoldering on a rural dirt road has been identified as a 35-year-old San Diego County resident who once worked as an emergency medical technician.

Kimberly Renee Hayes' father tells U-T San Diego his daughter lived a troubled life and had gotten out of jail six days before she was killed.

Harvey Hayes says he didn't know why she was behind bars.

The smoldering body of the Lakeside resident was found before dawn last Sunday in the Alpine area. Homicide detectives are investigating.

Harvey Hayes says Kimberly's 14-year-old daughter came to live with him several years ago because Kimberly worked long hours as an EMT for Scripps Hospital. She lost her job after a wrist injury.

Postings on Kimberly's Facebook page include photos of guns and of a swastika tattoo on her chest.
