Baby lamb escapes accident uninjured

Posted: Updated:

ESCONDIDO (CBS 8) - A baby lamb has a new "fleece" on life.

Mayballine and her owner were involved in an accident late Thursday night near Fig Street and Mission Avenue. The lamb was in a crate when a driver crashed into the SUV her owner was driving at about 11 p.m.

The 12-day-old lamb's owner says at the time of the crash, she was on her way home from volunteering at an animal rescue organization in Ramona.

She says she adopted Mayballine after the lamb's mother neglected to feed her after she was born. She's fed by bottle every three to four hours.

Her owner says Mayballine will be raised as a therapy pet to help those dealing with PTSD and autism.
