Three men arrested trying to breach U.S.-Mexico border

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The U.S. Border Patrol teamed up with Mexican authorities to capture three men who were trying to breach the border.

Border agents saw one man on the Mexican side using ladders and tools to make breaks in a mesh fence near the San Ysidro Port of Entry.

Agents passed on the information to Mexican authorities, who arrested the man. He was found to be a leader of organized crime in Tijuana.

Through details gathered from him, authorities arrested two other men who were found digging a culvert near the border fence that would have exited on the U.S. side of the border.
