Police ID body found at California trash plant

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — A woman whose body was found at a Southern California trash sorting facility has been identified as Jarrae Nykkole Estepp of Modesto.

Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said Saturday that the 21-year-old woman was identified through fingerprints.

A worker at the Republic Services plant found the unclothed body Friday on a conveyor belt used to separate recyclables from trash and yard waste.

Homicide investigators were trying to determine how she died and how the body came to the facility.

Schmidt said detectives planned to look at her past.

The Orange County Register reports court records indicate Estepp had been arrested in Ardmore, Okla. as recently as Feb. 18 on drunken driving and drug charges. Records also indicate she pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in Oklahoma City in July 2012.
