Gang unit investigating stabbing Chicano Park

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 29-year-old man was undergoing treatment at a San Diego trauma center after he was stabbed in the torso at a park, a police sergeant said Sunday.

The stabbing was reported at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Chicano Park at 2000 National Avenue, said San Diego police Sgt. L. Taylor.

The 29-year-old man was confronted by three juveniles or young men, Taylor said. One of them stabbed the victim once in the left torso and the suspects fled the scene on foot.

"The victim was transported to a local trauma center with a non-life threatening wound," he said.

The gang unit was investigating the attack, Taylor said.
