The show will go on: Ken Cinema to remain open

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The show will go on at the Ken Cinema in Kensington.

The theater was scheduled to show its last film on Sunday, but on Thursday, landmark theaters announced it reached an agreement with the property owners to keep the movie theater open for "many years to come."

The company announced the closure April 15, but the CEO says the community outrage over the closure led them to change their minds.

Landmark is planning to implement several upgrades to the ken including a new digital system and more comfortable seating.
