Fed-up victim takes on mail thieves, again

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A Clairemont family is asking for the public's help to identify a woman who stole their mail.

On Wednesday morning, a young blonde woman pulled up to Josh McKeon's home and stole a package from his porch. It was odd because in 2012, another young blonde woman was captured on camera committing the same crime.

"She has a nicer car than I do, so obviously she doesn't need the money," McKeon joked.

That car appears to be a newer model Ford Focus.

Although Josh invested in a locking mail box, the package stolen Wednesday contained a teething toy for his 8-month old baby boy that was too big for the box. The teething toy was only $12, but Josh wants to turn this case into a federal crime, because it is.

"I'm betting she's done this many times before, and I'm betting no one else has gotten any physical evidence. Hopefully now we can stop her and get her off the streets," McKeon said.

After all, in 2012 when we aired the first woman at work, the postal service delivered.

"The U.S. Postal Service sent me an email that said hey, we found her. She had three outstanding warrants for other violations, and we got her," McKeon said.

If you recognize the woman in the video you're asked to call the Postal Inspection Service at (877) 876-2455.
