Students take a stand against bullying

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Students at Monroe Clark Middle School in City Heights are taking a stand against bullying.

The Students Speaking Out Anti-Bullying Club hosted a school-wide event Friday to promote anti-bullying awareness. The goal was to remind students what bullying looks like and to know what to do if you are bulled and how to avoid bullying others.

Club members say they want all students to feel comfortable at school.

"We want a safe school. We don't want our school to be filled with violence, so we want our school to be a safe place for everyone," 6th grader Leilani Orduno said.

All students had a chance to sign their name to a cut out handprint as a pledge to stop bullying now.
