Meanwhile, strong and gusty westerly winds were expected to develop throughout San Diego County Monday.

"A low pressure system near the Pacific Northwest coast will move through California Tuesday bringing onshore flow," according to the National Weather Service. "This will bring strong gusty west winds to the mountains and deserts this afternoon through late Tuesday night. It will also bring gusty west winds near the coast inland to the western valleys."

The agency issued a high wind warning for mountain and desert areas from noon today to 3 a.m. Wednesday, saying gusts up to 60 miles per hour were likely.

Sustained winds during the advisory period were expected to be around 25 to 35 mph.

"The strong winds will make driving difficult in the mountains and deserts," the NWS said. "Travel may be impacted along ... Interstate 8 through the San Diego County mountains."

Motorists were urged to watch for downed tree limbs and other debris on the roadways.

A less serious wind advisory was scheduled for coastal and valley areas from 10 a.m. today to 6 p.m. Tuesday. In issuing the advisory, the Weather Service said sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of up to 35 mph were likely in coastal and valley areas.

For mariners off the coast of San Diego County, a small craft advisory for strong winds and rough seas is expected to take effect Monday evening. It will last through Wednesday morning, according to the NWS, which said sustained winds over the ocean should peak around 20 to 25 knots and gusts will be up to 30 knots.

Does dry skin and hair have you feeling down this holiday season? Chapped lips, cracked skin and brittle hair are certainly not huge problems when you look at the picture, but they are daily nuisances everyone can relate to.
