Students' Frozen parody goes viral

Posted: Updated:
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Right now students at local colleges are cramming for finals. Finals can be pretty nerve-wracking, but students at Point Loma Nazarene are singing the stress away with a parody that's going viral.

I'm torn by this story. On the one hand, I'm really burned out on the frozen songs and yet if you really know me, I always want to go to Starbucks.

The parody of Frozen's “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” is sung by Jene Nicole Johnson and her fellow students at Point Loma Nazarene University.

Stuck in the library, the song about students craving a caffeine pick-me-up is resonated with students across the country, during finals week.

One student writes, “OMG this is so me, studying for finals is better with Starbucks.”

Others write: "this is so cute. She has a great voice."

And "This is fabulous. I saw it on Facebook and shared it."

A day ago, the video had 75,000 hits on YouTube and 24 hours later it's approaching 300,000. Disney's Frozen has become the animated hit of the year with songs that have instantly become anthems for America's youth.

At a daddy daughter dance that I took my own girls too, the whole entire school event froze in time, when the DJ played a Frozen song.

And just when you were getting tired of the Frozen songs, students at Point Loma Nazarene are energizing the internet, while crooning about caffeine.
