Bank robbery in Vista

Posted: Updated:

VISTA (CNS) - A thief used a demand note to rob a bank near Rancho Buena Vista High School Monday afternoon.

The bandit, who appeared to be in his 20s, handed the written message to a teller at the Pacific Western branch office in the 1600 block of South Melrose Drive in Vista shortly after 1 p.m., sheriff's Lt. Clayton Lisk said.

The robber, who was wearing jeans and a blue shirt, fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash on foot, toward a nearby apartment complex, the lieutenant said.
