    Investigations were under way Tuesday into a rash of major fires that destroyed dozens of homes and businesses last week as they raged over tens of thousands of acres throughout the San Diego area.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Firefighters are truly the heroes in the continuous battle against the wildfires raging through San Diego County. 

But crews are battling more than just fires, they are fighting fatigue and hunger, at times just trying to stay on their feet.

In this video report, CBS News 8's Alicia Summers is at Kit Carson Park at a Cal Fire staging center where firefighters have been all night.
