Company offers free CPR lessons

Posted: Updated:
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Spend a minute and save a life -- that was the message at a free CPR event Wednesday.

American Medical Response offered free compression-only CPR instructions at eight different locations around the county.

The company found that many people are hesitant to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and they want everyone to know there is another way to give life-saving help.

Beating hard and fast on the center of the chest 100 times per minute has been shown to keep oxygen circulating and help people survive heart attacks.
