SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – There is damage and loss for local business owners, after burglars break in and set several fires at Ritual Tavern in North Park overnight.

The suspect or suspects smashed through a glass door and set several small fires around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. The burglary took place at the 4000 block of 30th Street in an area with many other businesses.

The criminal threw a large rock through a back patio glass door and busted into the tavern, then started lighting several small fires inside.

"They used accelerants and police put out the smaller fires before emergency workers put out larger fires and there was no major damage," explained Lt. Paul Rorrison with the San Diego Police Department.

The Metro Arson Strike Team is investigating this case, but so far police have not made any arrests.
