New tips needed to solve baby's death at daycare

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police Friday marked the two-year anniversary of an 11-month-old boy's death by asking for the public's help with identifying his killer.

Louis Michael Oliver lost consciousness on May 23, 2012, while at San Diego Daycare at 4381 Mount Davis Ave. in the Clairemont Mesa West area, according to police. Paramedics rushed Louis to Rady Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following morning -- four days shy of his first birthday.

"An autopsy revealed the case was a homicide and the case remains unsolved," police said. "Detectives believe the murder occurred at the daycare facility."

Louis suffered head and spine trauma, according to published reports.

San Diego Daycare lost its operating license after Louis' death but no one has been prosecuted in regards to the homicide.

Anyone with information about Oliver's death was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tips leading to an arrest in the case could be worth a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000.
