Padres honor first responders before game

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Padres paid tribute to the firefighters and first responders who protected lives and homes during the wildfires.

Representatives from about 20 agencies were welcomed on to the field at Petco Park before Saturday night's game against the Chicago Cubs.

Padres players wore caps of those agencies during batting practice tonight and messages of thanks were played on the video board.

About 1,000 first responders were treated to tickets to the game.
