Ramona crash leaves bicyclist dead

RAMONA (CBS 8) - A bicyclist struck and killed in Ramona Wednesday has been identified.

The California Highway Patrol reports that 54-year-old Juan Alarcon road out of a driveway into the path of an oncoming car at the intersection of Keyser Road and Warnock Drive.

The driver stopped and he and two other people tried to resuscitate the cyclist, but he died at the scene.

Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet.

RAMONA (CBS 8) - A bicyclist is dead after being hit by a car in Ramona.

The collision happened just before 6:30 a.m. on Warnock Drive near San Vicente Road.

The California Highway Patrol reports that a 54-year-old man on a bike rode out of a driveway into the path of an on-coming car and was hit. That driver and two other people stopped to help the victim.

The victim's name has not been released.
