Suspects sought after stabbing in downtown

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two young men were "jumped" by nine men in downtown San Diego's Core-Columbia area, leaving one of the victim's with several stab wounds, police said Friday.

The stabbing at Fifth and C streets was reported at 10:37 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed twice in his back and once in his abdomen, Stafford said in a statement, adding none of the wounds were life-threatening. Also, a 23-year-old man sustained minor injuries, he said.

No one was in custody as of early Friday and the motive was unclear.
