SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of volunteers fanned out across areas of San Diego Saturday.
They were armed with paintbrushes, hammers and a sense of community spirit. It was all part of the 4th Annual Day of Service organized by Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church.
Even San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer put on a T-shirt and got to work.
"It truly is about neighbors helping neighbors and it's something I feel strongly about in terms of One San Diego, and when all of our neighborhoods do well, our entire city does well,” said Mayor Faulconer.
Projects included painting a housing facility, constructing box gardens for seniors and installing fences for a community garden.?
