VANCOUVER, June 3, 2014 /CNW/ - A hearing has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) to consider whether the panel should accept a Settlement Agreement entered into between IIROC staff and Martin David Lang.

The Agreement concerns conduct that Mr. Lang made improper entries on reports relied on in the preparation of financial reports, which were required to be submitted to IIROC.

The hearing is not open to the public, but will become open in the event that the panel accepts the agreement. If the agreement is accepted, the Panel's decision and the Settlement Agreement will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. Lang's conduct in June 2011.  The conduct occurred when he was an officer of Union Securities Ltd. in Vancouver, B.C., an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. Lang is currently employed with an asset management company which is not an IIROC-regulated firm.

IIROC is the national self-regulatory organization which oversees all investment dealers and trading activity on debt and equity marketplaces in Canada.
