Driver hurt in single-vehicle rollover crash

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A car flew off a freeway overpass Sunday before coming to rest on its roof, a crash that resulted in major injuries, the CHP reported.

A caller told a CHP dispatcher at 8:16 a.m. that a car was on its roof in the southbound lanes of State Route 163 near the Interstate 805 exchange.

Responding CHP officers later determined the vehicle was a black Ford Mustang that had been traveling on the ramp from the north 163 to the north 805 when it went off the overpass and came to rest on its roof in the southbound lanes of the 163, the CHP reported.

The CHP reported major injuries in the single vehicle crash. But it was not reported how many people were hurt.
