Paddle out memorializes teen cancer victim

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8 ) - A paddle-out Sunday in La Jolla honored the life of a young cancer victim. Ricochet the surfing dog led the memorial.

The paddle-out was organized to remember 15-year-old Caleb Acosta, who lost his battle with cancer this spring. But not before he got his wish to surf with Ricochet as part of Make A Wish.

Sunday, Caleb's friends and family joined Ricochet on the beach to remember happier times.

"The day that Ricochet and Caleb surfed together was magical... Just so enlightening and touching and we all just felt a connection to Caleb immediately," said Ricochet's owner, Judy Fridono.

The event also marked the release of "Ricochet" the book that contains a chapter about Caleb and his journey.
