SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A driver was injured Wednesday when an out-of-control vehicle ran off a highway near Fallbrook and ended up 450 feet below, authorities said.
The accident happened on the northbound lanes of the Escondido Freeway just south of state Route 76 around 12:40 a.m., the California Highway
Patrol online incident log reported.
A towing company employee at the scene said the vehicle was 450 feet off the highway, according to the log. Earlier witness reports said the vehicle had been speeding and struck the highway center divider before veering across lanes and over the side.
