Mission Valley riverbed fire contained at half acre

MISSION VALLEY (CBS 8) - Fire crews work quickly to contain a brush fire in Mission Valley. 

Flames were reported around 3 p.m. Saturday in the riverbed near Morena and Napa streets, south of Friars Road.

The fire went to a second alarm as it spread out through the thick dry brush.

Crews were able to knock down the flames quickly and kept the fire contained to a half acre.

No one was hurt and no structures burned.
