Deputies investigate deadly Spring Valley shooting

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/CNS) - Sheriff's deputies are investigating a murder at an apartment complex in Spring Valley.

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Casa Grenada Apartments in the 9100 block of Kenwood Drive near Bancroft Drive. Deputies arrived to find a man dead inside one of the apartments.

Sheriff's Lt. Jeffrey Duckworth told reporters a man's body was found inside a unit inside the Casa Grenada apartment building, and that two men in a white car were seen in the area.

Deputies are trying to figure out what prompted the shooting.

The victim's name has not been released.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's department.
