SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose nine-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.149, one day after a seven-day streak of increases ended when it dropped two-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 4.6 cents more than one week ago, 2.4 cents higher than one month ago and 11 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The rising pump prices stem from a sharp increase in wholesale prices caused by unplanned outages at two Los Angeles County refineries. The outages have disrupted Southern California gasoline production, reducing the supply, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
