San Diego gas prices rising

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose three-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.152, the ninth increase in 10 days.

The average price is 4 cents more than one week ago, 3.1 cents higher than one month ago and 11.3 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose seven consecutive days, dropped two-tenths of a cent on Monday and increased nine-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.

The rising pump prices stem from a sharp increase in wholesale prices caused by unplanned outages at two Los Angeles County refineries. The outages have disrupted Southern California gasoline production, reducing the supply, Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
