Migrant families met by protesters on all sides

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Protestors are planning additional demonstrations on both sides of the immigration debate, as more undocumented migrants are set to arrive Friday.

Supporters gathered outside the San Ysidro Border Patrol facility Wednesday night, just days after opponents turned the families away from Murietta.

Now, hundreds of border patrol agents are working to process and care for mothers and young children.

Some of the children are sick. Ten have been hospitalized for lice and scabies and 40 have been quarantined

One bus load of families left San Ysidro Tuesday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement blocked media from following and wouldn't disclose a destination.

The federal government plans to fly another flight of 140 undocumented migrants to San Diego to be processed on Friday.

Once processed, they will be in ICE custody and taken to a bus or airport. They will have 15 days to report to an ICE agent.
