Lifeguards patrol Mission Bay boaters

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – On Friday, we got out on the water with San Diego lifeguards as they worked to keep everyone safe.

Patrols spent the day making sure everyone followed the rules out on Mission Bay. They not only keep an eye on boaters and jet skiers, but also on 27 miles of shoreline around Mission Bay and 11 marinas.

Lifeguards say the Fourth means peak staffing with almost double the amount of lifeguards on duty today than normal.
