SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Harley riders rally for the release of a Marine reservist being held in a Mexican jail.

Saturday, more than 100 motorcycle riders took off from San Diego Harley-Davidson to ride a 55 mile loop near the US-Mexico border.

Organizers say they want to show their support for 25-year-old Andrew Tahmooressi. He's been imprisoned in Mexico since April on weapons charges.

"There's a kid in prison ... Two times he was in Afghanistan. He just asking... I'm just asking us to stand up for him," said New York Myke, with San Diego Harley-Davidson.

Tahmooressi says he missed a turnoff on the I-5 freeway and crossed the border by mistake. He has a court hearing scheduled in Tijuana on Wednesday.
