Woman hurt after single vehicle rollover crash

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 22-year-old woman suffered abrasions and a broken arm in a rollover crash in the Talmadge neighborhood, less than two miles from where an earlier crash left a 59-year-old pedestrian dead, police said Thursday.

The woman was driving a 2003 Subaru west on the onramp from Montezuma Road to northbound Fairmount Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday when she lost control for unknown reasons, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford. Her car careened off the ramp, struck a pole and then rolled over, Stafford said.

The woman was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, he said.

Around two hours and 45 minutes earlier, the pedestrian was struck by a 29-year-old man driving a Honda sedan as he was crossing El Cajon Boulevard at Altadena Drive, Stafford said.

The pedestrian died at the scene, Stafford said. His name was not immediately available.
