Fire paramedics from Carlsbad and Oceanside and Carlsbad police were sent to the crash at 12:46 a.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Carlsbad Boulevard, north of Walnut Avenue, police Cpl. Mike Bolton said.

The other two pedestrians were taken to hospitals by ambulance, Bolton said. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Bolton said two of the pedestrians were 29-year-old women and one was a 31-year-old man.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrians was a 49-year-old woman who remained at the scene of the crash and was not arrested, Bolton said. Police were investigating and no fault has been determined, he said.
