Abused puppy adopted after life-saving surgery

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A puppy found abused and abandoned at an Oceanside gas station has a new "leash" on life.

Flynn was found by a good Samaritan in June with injuries to his muzzle. Veterinarians at the San Diego Humane Society believe someone had wrapped rubber bands around the dog's snout.

The little dog underwent reconstructive surgery and was placed with a foster family while he healed. They loved him so much, they decided to adopt him.

"He just bounced right back and his future is looking so bright. He has a great home and a doggie sister and a doggie brother he now lives with," Kelli Schry of the San Diego Humane Society said.

Flynn has been re-named Wiley. His new mom has started an Instagram account where she chronicles his adventures with his siblings Theo and Loki.
