Parking lot fire destroys two cars

Posted: Updated:

KEARNY MESA (CBS 8) - Shoppers in Kearny Mesa got quite the unpleasant surprise Sunday afternoon.

A Mercedes went up in flames in the Walmart parking lot on Shawline Street.

The flames quickly jumped to a Nissan parked next to the Mercedes. Fire crews were able to knock down the fire but both cars were destroyed.

No one was in the vehicles at the time of the fire. It's still unclear what sparked the blaze.
