Woman allegedly ran over ex's new girlfriend

A San Diego woman has been arrested after police say she rammed her ex-boyfriend's car and then ran over his new girlfriend.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 26-year-old woman was hospitalized with lower body injuries after she was deliberately run down by a driver in the Oak Park neighborhood, police said Saturday.

The 23-year-old suspect was the ex-girlfriend of the victim's boyfriend, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.

According to police, the suspect saw the female victim in the passenger seat of a vehicle with her 26-year-old boyfriend on College Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The suspect then rammed the rear of the male's vehicle, Heims said, slamming it again after the male got out of the vehicle in the 3400 block of College.

Heims said the victim then got out of the car and was run over by the suspect, who then fled.

The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.

The suspect was found and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, Heims said.
