SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two men have been jailed in connection with the death last spring of an Oak Park barbershop owner gunned down at his workplace.

Arrested early Wednesday morning for the killing of Lamar Canady, 32, at his business in the 5400 block of Redwood Street were 38-year-old Ian Patrick Guthrie, who was taken into custody in the 9800 block of Via Monzon in Rancho Penasquitos, and 47-year-old Peter Johnson, who was tracked down in his hometown of Kansas City, Mo., according to San Diego police.

Canady was fatally shot late on the morning of May 9. The father of four died at the scene.

Authorities have released no suspected motive for the slaying or disclosed the relationships, if any, among the suspects and Canady.

Johnson was being held in Kansas City pending extradition proceedings, SDPD Lt. Mike Hastings said.

Guthrie was booked into San Diego Central Jail without bail. His arraignment was scheduled for Friday afternoon.
