SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The rumble and roar of motorcycles echoed through some streets of San Diego.
Saturday was the 6th annual Ride for Inspiration. The event raises money for the Down Syndrome Center at Rady Children's Hospital.
About 100 riders took part.
Leading the pack was Councilman Scott Sherman, who traded in a suit and tie for a headband and a leather vest.
"The appreciation I got for the kids, you know a lot of people look the other way, but once you spend some time with them, they're amazing kids and anytime we can bring awareness, help raise funds and get the community involved, I'm all for it," he said.
The event also included a custom car show and a raffle drawing. Organizers hope to raise $60,000 to support the center.
