SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The CEO caught on camera kicking and choking a small dog has resigned.

Desmond Hague ran Centerplate, the company that sells food and beverages at Qualcomm Stadium and other San Diego venues. Tuesday the company announced his resignation as a result of "personal misconduct."

Centerplate's board of directors has announced that Chris Verros has been appointed to the role of acting president and chief executive officer, effective immediately, following the resignation of Hague.

Hague sparked outrage when footage leaked showing him mistreating a dog in a Vancouver elevator. He admitted to being the person in the video and apologized. The dog is now in safe hands.
