Man suffering from ALS takes Ice Bucket Challenge

There's no mistaking that the Ice Bucket Challenge has brought world-wide attention to ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - There's no mistaking that the Ice Bucket Challenge has brought world-wide attention to ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

One local man suffering from ALS decided to take the challenge himself on Tuesday. John Boucher did it at La Jolla Shores beach along with Scripps Health President and CEO Chris Van Gorder.

Boucher is a retired Scripps employee and current hospice patient.
