Orange County school closes for 2 days for threat

Posted: Updated:

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a small private school in Orange County will shut down for two days while detectives investigate a threat against it.

Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock tells the Orange County Register that St. Mary's School in Aliso Viejo will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hallock says the threat was made early Monday, but declined to share details about it.

Detectives worked while school was in session Monday, but administrators chose to close until it could be determined who made the threat, and why.

The school has about 800 students from preschool through eighth grade.
