OCEANSIDE (CNS) - A 24-year-old Chollas View man man with the mental capacity of an 8-year-old and a fondness for public transit was found by family members, safe but on a bus a long way from home.
Wayne Doxey was found by family members about 4:20 p.m. Saturday on a bus in the 2100 block of Vista Way in Oceanside, Oceanside police Sgt. Josh Morris said. It was unclear how Doxey's family members tracked him to Oceanside, about 38 miles from where he was last seen Friday.
San Diego police circulated photos of Doxey and reported him missing about 2 p.m. Saturday, after he'd been last seen by his family about 1 p.m.
Doxey's father had told police the young man was fond of trolleys.
