Sex offender accused of attacking 70-year-old woman

A man accused of sexually assaulting a 70-year-old Jacumba woman was in court Monday.

EL CAJON (CBS 8) – A man accused of sexually assaulting a 70-year-old Jacumba woman was in court Monday.

John Kreischer is a registered sex offender and was on parole at the time of the alleged crime. According to prosecutors, in July he entered the woman's apartment and sexually assaulted her after she briefly interacted with him at a nearby supermarket.

"Once he came inside, he grabbed me and stuck his tongue inside my mouth," the woman said.

After kissing her, she says he then put his hands under her shirt, fondled her and made an explicit comment.

"'You're ready for me,'" she testified.

The victim says she was scared and backed away. She says she told him she had to cook, and would be leaving her apartment soon, hoping that would make him go away. Instead she says he stayed, and began talking to her about their future together.

"He just kept talking about how he was going to have us laying in bed and stroking each other," she said.

Eventually, Kreischer took off. The victim, shaken by the incident, called a friend, who in turn came over and convinced her to report what happened to authorities.

"I said you need to call the sheriff. You were molested," the woman's friend testified.

A judge Monday ordered Kreischer to stand trial. If convicted, he faces more than 40 years to life in prison.
