EL CAJON (CBS 8) - A major crackdown on San Diego County fugitives has led to more than 30 arrests.

"Operation Heatwave" targeted people wanted on felony warrants. The El Cajon Police Department worked with 13 other law enforcement agencies during the two-day sweep.

The operation focused on 100 people wanted on felony warrants. It's the third large-scale warrant sweep this year.

Among those taken into custody was the mother of a man who escaped the San Diego Central Jail September 9. Catalina Andrews was suspected of harboring Don Andrea Torrillo Jr. after he walked out of lockup. He was re-arrested the following night.

Authorities say the fugitives who weren't arrested during this sweep will eventually be found during the normal course of business.
