VISTA (CBS 8) - A home is flooded after a water main break in Vista overnight.
Work crews first received the call shortly after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and then responded to the 2200 block of Buena Creek Road. There is reportedly a significant amount of damage in the house.
Firefighters say they worked to salvage what they could. One homeowner says the inside of the home was almost a complete loss:
“It's close to a foot deep inside. Oh yeah, I'd say almost everything of their possessions. We saw it in the street just rushing in the house,” said Jim Bush.
The house is being rented and the landlord lives next door. The cost of the damage is being estimated.
The water has been shut off and repairs are expected to be done by 5 p.m. Wednesday. In the meantime, drivers are advised to avoid that area, if at all possible.
