SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The commanding officer of the San Diego-based USS Boxer has been relieved of duty.

The Navy says Captain Wayne Brown was removed from command Monday after an investigation into what it calls "equal opportunity concerns."

Navy officials haven't released any other details.

Captain Keith Moore will temporarily assume the duties of commanding officer.

The boxer returned to San Diego in April after an eight month deployment.
